Community Impact and Legacy

The Village of Grosse Pointe Shores is investing in the future of Osius Park with a new pool and year-round community center.

The current pool has served residents for generations, but it is outdated, costly to maintain, and no longer meets the safety, accessibility, and programming needs of our community.

The GPS Dive In campaign will help create a safer, more welcoming place for residents to swim, gather, celebrate, and connect.

What We Will Build

This project includes two major improvements at Osius Park: a modern pool complex and a year-round community center with lake views.

Together, these new facilities will support swimming, fitness, family celebrations, community programs, and everyday connection.

Leave a Legacy

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to invest in a place that has shaped generations of GPS families.

Your gift will help create safer, more useful, and more welcoming park facilities for residents today and for years to come.

Making Waves, Already!

Thanks to a generous $1.2 million lead gift and a $1 million generous gift from the Grosse Pointe Shores Improvement Foundation, the Dive In campaign is already splashing forward.

Our goal is to raise $10 million more to help build a safer, more modern pool, and community center for GPS residents and future generations.

Why Your Neighbors Are Diving In

Sandra Cavataio

“As a longtime resident, I’ve seen how Grosse Pointe Shores Park brings our community together. My family has spent countless hours swimming, competing, and enjoying its amenities while making lifelong friendships. A new pool and community center will enhance these experiences, creating more opportunities for families to gather and neighbors to connect. I’m proud to support this project — now is the time to Dive In and invest in our community’s future.”

“I am thrilled to champion the Dive In capital campaign. For four generations, the Sattler family has thrived in the GPS parks, from swimming with the Sharks to making lifelong memories. Our community’s legacy — built on dedication and cherished amenities — demands enhancement. A new pool and community center will ensure future generations enjoy these same opportunities. Let’s come together and Dive In for a brighter GPS future!”

“When my husband and I chose to make GPS our home, the pool was a major factor in our decision, just as it was for my husband’s family when he was growing up here. Investing in a new pool and community center ensures GPS continues to thrive as a place where families come together, where kids learn to swim and compete, and where memories are made. I urge our community to support the Dive In campaign.”

“Improved amenities mean a better experience for everyone — from competitive swimmers to families looking to enjoy a day in the water. With modern facilities, maintenance will be easier and more cost-effective, ensuring the space stays safe and welcoming for years to come. This project also opens up better opportunities for swimmers of all levels, whether they’re learning their first strokes or training for their next big event. Most importantly, the new center will be a hub where our community can come together, connect, and thrive. Let’s ‘Dive In’ and make this vision a reality.”
